Silán Tower

Silán Tower

The remains of an ancient tower from the 13th century

A rectangular-shaped tower dating back to the 13th and 14th centuries, it now preserves only one of the two or three floors that were originally part of its structure. It features a semi-circular arched door with wide granite voussoirs, and another door adorned with decorative molding, a keystone with the crowned "M" of the Montenegro family, flanked by two other shields depicting an eagle and a ribbon with scrollwork. The coat of arms of the Castro and Andrade families, originally situated on the tower, is now located in an adjacent building.
