Riobóo Palace

The most emblematic historic building in Cabanas

Built in the second half of the 17th century, it is one of the most emblematic buildings in Cabanas. Erected by Archbishop D. Francisco Seixas on one of the lands of the Caaveiro Priory, granted in exchange for a barrel of sardines. Its entrance is in Baroque style, and the coat of arms on the north facade is dated between 1742-1748. The roof slabs were transported on ox-drawn carts from lands in Lugo.
